Notes on The Stolen Child

According to Kidson, "The air was noted down in East Yorkshire by Mr. Lolley, a similar copy of the tune being also heard in the West Riding. It is seldom sung, though the tune is good, but both it and the words are not later than the early portion of the present [19th] century. The words are found in print on a broadside". (p168).
