Comments:
The only source Kidson gives for this is that it "is a childs's rhyme
and game, heard and seen palyed by Liverpool children". (p103). He does
add that some blanks caused by the reciter's memory have been filled up.
The tune would be recognisable to may who watched British TV in the
1960's as it was the theme tune to the series "Z-Cars" on the BBC..
